Taste the island´s well-known Madeira wine at the first stop, where the tradition of fortified wine comes to life, proving that in Madeira, it´s always a good time for a sip! The second stop, a charming restaurant, invites you to enjoy Madeira table wine paired with crostinis and locally sourced products. Discover the irresistible chocolate combined with traditional flavours at the third stop, a Madeiran chocolate factory. The fourth stop takes you to a popular Madeira cookies and sweets factory that all locals enjoy especially during Christmas time! At the Farmer´s Market, on the fifth stop, immerse yourself in a vibrant world of exotic fruits and experience the lively fish market, offering a glimpse into the island´s abundant produce.
As your journey continues the sixth stop invites you to savour home-cooked dishes with the flavours of traditional Madeiran cuisine, offering an overview of the culinary traditions of the island. The seventh stop introduces you to a typical old Madeiran grocery store, where you can find a wide variety of spices, beans, and potatoes. Here is where you will taste the famous Poncha, renowned as the "medicine" of Madeira, believed to cure anything from a cold to a broken heart. The eighth stop is a common local bar where you will eat black scabbard fillet sandwiches or fresh tuna, a treat available anytime during the day. After a morning filled with delicious tastings, you will then finish the food and wine experience at the ninth stop, a charming tea house in the Old Town, providing the perfect ending to your day of food and wine exploration.

Day by day itinerary
- 10:00AM: Meet your English Speaking Guide at the entrance of the H&M Store in Infante´s Roundabout. (NOTE: Attendance 15 minutes earlier is required.)
- 1st stop will be a Madeira Wine Producer. Madeira Island is best known for its fortified wine for over 500 years, so we had to taste some Madeira wine on this tour!
- After tasting some wine head to the 2nd stop. A charming restaurant where everyone can try a beloved Madeira dish, Carne de vinha d´alhos. This traditional Christmas specialty features tender pork marinated with garlic and wine, bringing a taste of home to every bite. To accompany this savory treat, we´ll enjoy "Coral," a locally brewed, pale golden lager adored by locals.
- Make your way to the 3rd stop. Visit a Madeiran chocolate factory that combines irresistible chocolate with typical flavours.
- 4th stop will be a well-known Madeira cookies and sweets factory.
- After indulging in a variety of mouth-watering sweets, we´ll head to our 5th stop: a cozy restaurant where we´ll sample Madeira table wine paired with crostinis topped with local ingredients and flavors.
- The 6th stop takes us to a traditional Madeiran grocery store, where we´ll browse local staples like spices, beans, and potatoes. Here, we´ll also get to try Poncha, a beloved local drink with many flavor variations. The classic recipe combines sugar cane rum, lemon, and sugar, creating a potent mix that Madeirans swear by for curing everything from colds and fevers to broken hearts. As they say, "In Madeira, Poncha is the medicine!"
- Our 7th stop is the renowned Farmer´s Market, a landmark inaugurated in 1940. Here, you´ll find an impressive array of flowers and an abundance of exotic seasonal fruits unique to Madeira, some of which you may have never encountered before. Take a moment to enjoy the vibrant colors and captivating scents. The market also houses a lively fish section, where you´ll have the chance to see up close the fresh catches that you´ll soon taste, or may have already savored.
- Our 8th stop is a delightful surprise nestled right within the market. Here, you can smell, touch, and taste an array of fresh, seasonal fruits that showcase the local flavors each one a delicious challenge for your taste buds to discover!
- 01:00PM: Our final stop takes us to Funchal´s charming old town, where you´ll savor a beloved local favorite: garlic-marinated tuna, served with crispy fried cornmeal and Madeira´s famous flatbread topped with garlic and parsley butter. To complete this tasting, you´ll also enjoy a refreshing local soda, a perfect pairing that won´t disappoint!
