Introduction
Santiago Revealed: Discover the Pilgrimage Capital
On this short break, you will be staying in a hotel within walking distance of the historic centre of Santiago de Compostela. Also included is a walking tour around Santiago with an expert guide. Santiago de Compostela, World Heritage City and capital of Galicia is the final landmark on the St. James pilgrimage route. Centuries of splendour and development have left us with an urban layout in which the medieval heritage is mixed with monumental Baroque buildings. Restaurants in the Plaza del Obradoiro welcome guests and offer them the opportunity to taste the best of the Galician culinary tradition.
Discover with us Santiago de Compostela, the pilgrimage capital of Galicia. We will start our walking tour through the streets of the old quarter admiring the main monuments and heritage of this pilgrimage city including the Praterías Façade and Square, the Casa do Deán and Casa do Cabido, the Colegio de Fonseca, the Obradoiro Façade and Square, the Colegio de San Xerome...
In the Cathedral, we will see: the silver crypt where St. James´s remains lie, the statute of St. James the Apostle sitting on the high altar.
