The Gaita is one of the most traditional instruments of Galicia, and was popular as well during the Middle Ages. Moaña, Galicia, Spain is home to numerous famous bagpipers such as Anxo Lorenzo, Xose Manuel Budiño, among musicians.
The gaita (Galician bagpipe) became popular thanks to the massive immigration of Galicians to the United States and Latin America. The creation of Galician Centers (Centro Galego / Casa Galicia) in iconic cities and capitals, like New York City and Buenos Aires, Argentina.
