Introduction

A Quick Culinary Escape in Portugal´s Capital

Lisbon is a city with so much to offer that in a short break, it hardly does justice, but we have put together some recommended experiences in the city like an event to see the sunset views and then a live Fado show with dinner on your first day of arrival in the Portuguese capital.  On the second day, you will enjoy in the morning a gastronomic journey in Lisbon with our Cooking Class and Market Tour. Meet your chef, then head to a local market to handpick fresh ingredients for your traditional Portuguese Cooking Class and meal. Then our local guide will show you around the city visiting the Jeronimos Monastery, Belem Tower (from the outside), Castle of Sao Jorge and Alfama Quarter in the afternoon.

On the third day, for a day out of the city, we have a few options like: heading to Sintra, Sintra is like a page torn from a fairy tale, a place where Nature and Man have combined in such a perfect symbiosis that UNESCO has granted it World Heritage Site status. The next stop will be at a winery in the beautiful village of Colares. Then in the afternoon, walk along the promenade of Cascais, a beautiful coastal resort town. The second option if you want a more active day then you could do an Arrabida Park Tour SUP in the morning then a kayak tour and then  Hike with Picnic style lunch is a fun-packed day in a beautiful coastal area nearby the city.

You could combine this short break with others, for example, you could take the train, flying or even a chauffeur transfer to Porto or over to Seville, Spain. See the add-on section for further details.

Day by day itinerary

 DAY 1: 
 LISBON AIRPORT OR TRAIN STATION - LISBON

  • Upon arrival private transfer to a hotel in the city centre
  • Drop off a city centre hotel
  • Time to relax today in Lisbon
  • Evening Private Walking Panoramic Night tour and Sunset Views with Fado Music and Dinner  (Duration: 4hrs approx.)
  • Make you own way to the meeting point Martim Moniz Square in front of the Hotel Mundial.
  • Enjoy a panoramic evening tour of the city at sunset with the best views of the city then dinner with tapas and traditional Portuguese Fado Music.

DAY 2: 
LISBON

  • Private Cooking Class with Market Tour (Duration: 5hrs approx.)
  • Visit a local market, preparation of a traditional Portuguese meal and Lunch 
  • A Market Tour is a unique experience during your visit to Lisbon as you will get the chance to buy fresh ingredients for the Cooking Class with our chef.
  • You will meet our chef in the facilities. Together with the chef, you will visit a local market and return to the kitchen for the cooking class and meal.
  • Designed for experienced and novice cooks, takes place in a cozy and friendly environment at the kitchen.
  • You will be delighted with the variety of colours, fresh vegetables and variety of fresh fish and shellfish.
  • The chef/instructor will teach you how to prepare a traditional Portuguese meal consisting of fish dish, meat dish and dessert. It`s a hands-on experience! At the end of all preparation, you will enjoy the meal with your new foodie friends together with excellent Portuguese wines.
  • Market Tour with Cooking Class is an excellent opportunity to learn about the secrets of Portuguese cuisine with locals in a fun and relaxed environment.
  • You will receive the recipes after the class. The recipes mention the portions, ingredients, and step by step to make an amazing meal.
  • End of the experience and drop off back at your hotel.
  • In the afternoon...
  • Private Lisbon Jeronimos Monastery, Castle San Jorge, and Panoramic city tour (Duration: 4hrs approx.)
  • Your Private English-Speaking driver and guide will pick you up from your hotel.
  • Enjoy a half-day visit to Lisbon city´s important sites: Jeronimos Monastery & Belem Tower (from the outside), Castle San Jorge, etc.

  • Pick up from your hotel by tour guide/driver who will take you on an active day excursion to the Arabida Park.
  • Starting off from the Praia do Creiro - Portinho da Arrabida with a 3hr approx. Kayak tour.
  • Then enjoy a picnic lunch
  • In the afternoon a spectacular hike in the Serra do Risco for about 12kms/7-5mi approx. will take about 4hrs approx.
  • Then you will be transferred back to your hotel in Lisbon
  • Evening and Dinner on your own
  • Overnight in Lisbon

DAY 3:
OPTION 2:  LISBON - SINTRA - COLARES - CASCAIS - LISBON

  • Private Explore Lisbon, Sintra, Colares & Cascais (Duration: 9hrs approx.)
  • Our private English Speaking Driver and guide will pick you up at the lobby of your designated hotel.
  • You will start off your day heading to the beautiful village of Sintra - about 30 minutes by car from the capital- which is a harmonic combination of history and fantasy, described as a "glorious Eden" by the 18th-century British poet Lord Byron. Your guide will give you plenty of information about the city`s wonderful palaces. You will visit the Palacio da Pena & Old Quarter, and see the imposing monuments.
  • Your next stop will be at a winery in the beautiful village of Colares where you will enjoy a wine visit with tasting and a special buffet lunch at the winery (Casal Sta. Maria Winery)
  • Start the Winery Tour.
  • Lunch at the winery.
  • End of winery visit.
  • Then in the afternoon, walk along the promenade of Cascais, a beautiful coastal resort town.
  • Your driver and guide will drop you off back at your hotel.
  • Evening and Dinner on your own.
  • Overnight in Lisbon.
