Introduction

Walking the Coastal Camino Way

This itinerary traces the Portuguese Coastal Camino, beginning in the seaside town of Baiona and winding north along the Atlantic coastline through fishing villages, riverside paths, and historic towns. Each stage offers a balance of scenic walking and cultural discovery, leading to the final arrival in Santiago de Compostela, the spiritual heart of Galicia and the ultimate destination for pilgrims for centuries.

From Baiona to Santiago and Beyond

After exploring Baiona´s maritime heritage, the journey continues through Vigo, Redondela, Pontevedra, and Padrón, towns rich in tradition and history. Arriving in Santiago is a highlight, with time to enjoy its medieval streets and the grandeur of the cathedral. The itinerary then extends westward to Finisterre, the legendary “end of the world,” where travelers are rewarded with sweeping ocean views and a profound sense of completion at the Atlantic coast.

Galicia´s Gastronomy and Food Tours

No journey through Galicia is complete without experiencing its renowned cuisine. In Baiona, a guided food tour introduces the town´s seafood traditions, from razor clams and scallops to local specialties paired with Albariño wines. Later in Santiago de Compostela, the culinary adventure continues with a visit to the bustling Mercado de Abastos and tastings in the city´s best tapas bars, offering a delicious insight into Galicia´s food culture.
