Tailor-made Tour of Spain: Madrid & Andalusia

 

We traveled between Madrid and Cadiz, Madrid and Salamanca, Madrid and Malaga via high-speed train, booked by  Eat & Walkabout.

We stayed in fine hotels in Madrid, Cadiz, and Malaga, booked by E&W.

We saw flamenco dancers and dancing horses – events booked by E&W.

Salamanca – a fascinating ancient university town with a magnificent Plaza Mayor, university buildings, new and old cathedrals.

Cadiz – an ancient city with prehistoric depth, remnants of Phoenician and Roman occupation, and source of Spain´s landmark “constitution”.

Jerez de la Frontera – home of an ancient Alcázar, Tio Pepe, and the dancing horses of the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art.

The white hilltop villages of Arcos de la Frontera, Grazalema, Setenil de las Bodegas on the drive to Malaga.

Nerja – where we were able to participate within the community´s devotion and joy during the hours long San Isidro Romeria.

Aranjuez – home of the spring palace and gardens designed, constructed, and modified by the Habsburg and Bourbon monarchs.
